Cleansing . Create a cleansing routine, washing your face each morning and before bed. This alone can significantly reduce acne breakouts. I am washing with dove bar soap. I moisurize with a home mixture of Aloe vera and tea tree oil mixed together. Together it is a great combination for combination skin. So I’ve been struggling with acne for years. I got it to calm down to where I just have black heads and underlying pimples during the month but right around my menstral cycle my face gets really oily and I break out on my chin and line of my face (where the oil settles at the end of the day). I don’t use anything on my face make up wise or in the line of lotions. I use st Ives apricot scrub and witch hazel as my face wash and astringent. I’ve used many things over the years and these work better than proactive did for me. But I still break out. I’m going to try the potatoes suggested in this article first but I’m really hopeful that I find something to just tone down my skin oil… I have a similar problem with my hair, but I’ve found a solution for that. My granddaughter is soon to be 14 and autistic. Hot yoga is terrible for your health. As mentioned before, heat helps bacteria grow but also note: sweat that goes from your scalp to your face spreads extra oil and when sweat combines with rubbing of hands or clothing, this will further increase irritation. Heat also dries out your skin even if you’re are sweating and also causes more sebum production to compensate.


Hi, so I’ve been struggling with acne since forever and I’ve tried so many things and wasted so much money trying to get rid of it. However, nothing seems to work for very long. It seems as though my skin only temporarily accepts the remedy, then harshly rejects it a few days later. Sometimes it gets so bad that my skin dries out or becomes too oily, which I then go onto another new and different solution. I’ve talked to a doctor, but they weren’t much help either. Please, if anyone can help me, I would be welcome to it.

In addition to washing your pillows, if you use make-up brushes to apply your foundation, eyeshadow, etc. these should also be washed once a week. Mix a little dawn dish soap with olive oil which will not only clean your brush and make them good for your face, but they will also condition the bristles and lead to a longer brush life.
