No it won’t. Frequently washing your face with soap can actually dry it out. Dry skin is susceptible to wounds and sensitivity. You can wash your face twice a day if you have normal skin. Be gentle: you may want to use a mild cleanser twice a day, in the morning and evening. You should add another wash after a heavy workout, where you have sweated a lot. Do not be tempted to scrub your skin. This does not work and will only increase your problem.
Exfoliating, which removes the layer of dead skin cells, is also important for healthy skin. After washing your face with a mild cleanser, exfoliate with face facial scrub one to two times a week. This can help reduce dead skin cells and debris which can clog pores and cause more acne.
“Things are so much better today because there are so many more options for treating acne,” said Sarah Taylor, MD, a dermatologist with Wake Forest Baptist Health. “While OTC products are pretty much the same as they have been for years – just different concentrations of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid in various forms such as cleansers, gels and creams – the prescription world has really changed in the past 10 years or so. Honestly, I’ve only had almost-perfect skin when I was using a harsh prescription cream (would never do that again), and at times when I have been overall healthy (mind, diet, lifestyle habits). Meaning, I have never noticed a significant difference related to products or food. Treatment should be directed toward the known pathogenic factors involved in acne. These include follicular hyperproliferation, excess sebum, Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes) infection, and inflammation. The grade and severity of the acne help in determining which of the following treatments, alone or in combination, is most appropriate.

The problem with oral Retin-A is that it can cause problems in the liver and central nervous system. It can also overstimulate growth in the human embryo, and cause birth defects taken during the first month or pregnancy. And a significant problem with Retin-A is that it can stimulate so much growth in the skin that new skin blemishes occur.

It may take a team effort to defeat acne once and for all.
