Environment makes a difference. Sometimes humidity or dry air and disrupt your skin. If you noticed a change after a move, this may be the culprit. Unfortunately this is hard to handle without moving again – but maintaining balanced skin with good products should be the aim. Eventually it should acclimatize.

Combined oral contraceptives. Four combined oral contraceptives are approved by the FDA for acne therapy in women who also wish to use them for contraception. They are products that combine estrogen and progestin (Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Yaz, others). You may not see the benefit of this treatment for a few months, so using other acne medications with it the first few weeks may help.
Of all forms of laser and light therapy, the most evidence is with photodynamic therapy (PDT) in treating acne.  PDT involves a photosensitizer applied to the skin, time allowed for it to be absorbed by the pilosebaceous units, and then application of a light source to activate the photosensitizer, generating reactive oxygen species to damage the glands and reduce Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes). A 2016 Cochrane review was unable to draw firm conclusions regarding the benefit of light therapy in acne, owing to the variation in wavelength, dose, photosensitizer, comparator interventions, and treatment frequency that were studied.  However, despite the interstudy variation, many individual trials show PDT to be effective in reducing lesions in mild-to-severe acne, with 5-aminolevulinic acid and methyl aminolevulinate photosensitizers and red light source as promising treatment components. [64, 65]

carbs can cause problems,” says Albert Lefkovits, MD, director of the Park Avenue Center for Advanced Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology in New York City. In a 2007 study, Australian researchers found that people who followed a low-glycemic index (GI) diet (which is low in refined carbohydrates like those found in white bread) had a 22% decrease in acne lesions, compared with a control group that ate more high-GI foods.
