first things first dont touch or let anything touch your face,address possible birthcontrol concerning acne, mineral powder foundations only,natural EVERYTHING ON YOUR BODY! wash every moring and once at night if needed. face scrub 1-3 times a week. 100% pure manuka oil on face 1-2 times a day.( antibacterial-30 times more than tea tree oil.) avoid horomones found in plactics i personally use no plastic containers for food and drink and as much body products as possible.(bar hand soap,face soap,etc. glass bottles for drink ,glass for food containers) plactics contain estrogren, which can worsen acne and increase reproductive cancers. i also use a natural zinc suncreen with moisterizers. zinc is also great for acne as well as sunprotection. 15 mins of sun can bring back age spots and scars that have taken months to get rid of. moisterizers are crutial with acne. dry skin produces more oil! whenever i wash my face at nite i use manuka oil and tamanu oil (of course bolth products being oganically grown and cold pressed- nautral oils should be made like high quality olive oil) tamanu oil is an asian “beauty oil” works wonders on spot dots scars an redness, it is also antimicrombial- so it also helps fight acne. warning high quality tamanu oil is bright green and when kept in frige it settles up put some on you hand and it will melt into oil in seconds, i use it at night because of the slight hint of color and oil that remanes on the face(not enough for my husband to notice 🙂 *so dont touch face! avoid horomone concerns with bc and plastics, wash 1-2 times a day, scrub 1-3 times a week, use manuka oil 1-2 times a day,always use natual zinc suncreen , always moisterize, mineral makeup, and tamanu oil at night whenever possible, and avoid stressors and stressed people(key to healthy mind and body), and dont foget to eat healthy organic food and vitamins, get exercise( sweat out impurities), and naural organic total body care* it takes 2 week to make a blemish under the skin so stay consistent for results in one to two months for acne, immedietly for dry red skin.
One last word of advice: apply sunscreen daily. Dr. MacGregor couldn’t stress enough the important role sunscreen plays in reducing marks and scars. “I always suggest using a broad spectrum sunscreen because the spots only get worse if the person is constantly getting sunlight on the skin,” she said.
The primary cause of the over-secretion of sebaceous glands is actually an imbalance in circulating levels of $e* hormones (androgens, otherwise known as testosterone, estrogen and progesterone). Both women and men produce all three hormones but, of course, in different amounts.
Salicylic acid vs benzoyl peroxide has long been a hot topic in the treatment of acne. Salicylic acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid and has proven to be one of the most effective acne treatments, and a safer option than benzoyl peroxide. It features keratolytic properties, meaning it dissolves keratin, making it an ideal exfoliating ingredient. Salicylic is chemically comparable to aspirin, and can help reduce redness and calm inflammation as pores open up and clear out. When salicylic acid is applied to the skin, it can help break down the fatty compounds found in sebum that can cause pores to clog. The Clear Skin System uses the highest allowable concentration of salicylic acid to ensure effective treatment for acne. This pimple treatment works on plugged comedones by sloughing off dead skin cells and clearing pores.
Taking baseline photographs of acne severity and lesion distribution is useful for assessing response to treatment, and encouraging medicine adherence.3 Most electronic patient management systems allow images to be added to the patient record.
Wash your face for a minute at least with Luke warm Water and apply a lemon juice to the part where the pimples are and leave it to dry for 15 min. Do this for 2 weeks straight and your pimples will be gone. It totally worked for me.:-)
Subantimicrobial therapy or concurrent treatment with topical benzoyl peroxide may reduce the emergence of resistant strains.  Comparing subantimicrobial 40-mg doxycycline, 100-mg doxycycline, and placebo, Moore et al found a comparable percentage of patients clear of acne between at the 40-mg and 100-mg doses, both significantly higher than placebo.  Additionally, less drug-related adverse events were found with the 40-mg subantimicrobial dosing. Enteric-coated, delayed-release formulations of doxycycline can further reduce gastrointestinal adverse effects. 
The topical use of tea tree reduces redness and has strong antibacterial properties. It’s been shown to be effective against P. acnes and Staph aureus, the two strains of bacteria associated with acne. I recommend topical products containing at least 5% tea tree. Make your own serum at home by combining 5% tea tree oil with 95% of a non-comedogenic oil (such as argan oil).
Protect your skin after undergoing any acne scar treatments. Always wear creams with the right amount of SPF, (our favorite sunscreen brand is Laroche posay, which holds the patent for the best sun filters… ) follow your doctor’s suggestions when it comes to products and stay away from direct sunlight on your face.

Like acne on your face, back acne occurs when your pores become blocked with oil and dead skin cells.. Exfoliating your back regularly might help remove these dead skin cells and pore-clogging debris before they have a chance to block pores. However, you want to take care not to scrub too hard, especially if you are experiencing an active breakout. Use a soft cloth to gently brush away surface impurities as you shower.

Avoid using strong soaps or products that strip all oil and moisture from your skin. Your skin’s natural reaction is to try to compensate by producing more oil, which will worsen your acne in the long run!

Different types of vitamin B, namely B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), and B6 (pyridoxine), regulate various processes in the body such as digestion, circulation, immune response, and adrenal function. Optimum levels of these are required for healthy skin, hair, and nails (64).
Frequently used topical retinoids include adapalene, isotretinoin, retinol, tazarotene, and tretinoin. They often cause an initial flare-up of acne and facial flushing, and can cause significant skin irritation. Generally speaking, retinoids increase the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight and are therefore recommended for use at night. Tretinoin is the least expensive of the topical retinoids and is the most irritating to the skin, whereas adapalene is the least irritating to the skin but costs significantly more. Tazarotene is the most effective and expensive topical retinoid, but is not as well-tolerated. Retinol is a form of vitamin A that has similar but milder effects, and is used in many over-the-counter moisturizers and other topical products.
There is also a growing body of evidence for laser treatment of acne, standalone or in the context of PDT. However, similar to light therapy, the power and quality of research is limited by small patient numbers, lack of a control population, and comparison to standard therapies. Nonetheless, preliminary studies have shown improvement in acne, and even potential long-lasting effects with the 1550-nm erbium-glass laser, 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser, and PDT with laser. 
The toothpaste works! But, you have to make a continued use of it. You can do this for about a week but, you have to do it every day for week! If you don’t use it everyday for a week it will not work! Hope this was helpful! 🙂
Garlic: it is a well-known fact that garlic has antibacterial properties. It is the sulphur content of the garlic which does the work. Slice a clove of garlic in half and rub the cut end onto the pimple. Leave this on for no longer than five minutes before washing it off with warm water. You may repeat this several times each day.
Never use grease creams and cosmetics. Buy only ‘non-comedogenic’ or water-based formulas. These formulas had been thoroughly tested and proven that they do not clog the pores, which is the main cause of acne.

No waxing, please. Waxing can cause permanent scars in people taking isotretinoin. To avoid scarring, you must not wax while taking isotretinoin and for 6 months after you stop taking isotretinoin. This applies to hot wax and cold wax.
Anti-androgen agents. The drug spironolactone (Aldactone) may be considered for women and adolescent girls if oral antibiotics aren’t helping. It works by blocking the effect of androgen hormones on the sebaceous glands. Possible side effects include breast tenderness and painful periods.
Omega-3-fatty acid supplementation is useful for inflammatory acne in about 2/3 of the cases as this study showed. Here is a patient from this study who benefitted from omega-3 supplementation. Thebaseline image is seen with inflammatory acne lesions on his cheek. Only 12 weeks after taking 3 Grams of omega-3 supplementation daily his face looked much improved.
Using lights: normally any form of light treatment is not offered by doctors because they are not sure how well it works. Research is continuing for this. There are people who believe that using a sunbed dries up their acne, but again, there is no scientific proof to this claim. The best person to speak to about this, is your dermatologist.
Acne encompasses a range of facial spots beyond just your latest breakout situation: black and whiteheads, pimples, pustules, cysts, and nodules, says Dr. Lee. A black or whitehead occurs when a pore is clogged with debris and oil. When those blockages build up, bacteria, specifically the P. acnes variety, can get involved. That triggers inflammation and infection, which causes painful red pimples.
Alcohol: limit your alcohol, it is not necessary that you omit it altogether. Be aware that drinks like tequila and vodka do not contain sugar so should not affect your skin. Red wine is also good in moderation. Mixed drinks will always contain large amounts of sugar which may make your acne worse.
Clinical trials have shown that estrogen-containing oral contraceptives can be helpful;31–33 the various formulations are thought to decrease levels of free testosterone by increasing sex-hormone-binding globulin and are considered equally effective. The choice of combined oral contraceptive should be based on a patient’s tolerance and potential side effects. It is not known whether other estrogen-containing contraceptives (e.g., vaginal rings, transdermal patches) are effective. Contraceptives containing only progesterone may worsen acne.4
Sun exposure can cause inflamed spots to turn dark brown. It will also cause premature wrinkles, other signs of aged skin, skin growths and skin cancers. Although some people with acne notice a small improvement in their acne during summer, the benefits of extra exposure to sunlight are at best small, while the risks are large.
Tea tree oil is an antibacterial agent that can help clear out the microbes clogging your skin. Avoid using undiluted tea tree oil — it’ll burn your skin, and worsen acne. Read the warning label on the bottle.
For more severe forms of acne, you may need prescription medication. Dr Wong explains: “This can range from antibiotics which you apply as a cream or a gel, or your doctor could prescribe antibiotic tablets, for courses of three to six months. “There are also stronger tablets, which people can take and would be done under the supervision of a dermatologist.”
The two laser treatment options above are great for acne scar removal, but aren’t generally recommended as acne treatment.
